We welcome you to our first parents' meeting and we look forward to achieving together a successful and fruitful 2009/2010 academic year for our students.
We would like to congratulate all parents for our new full fledged International department which was achieved through dedicated work during the summer by all the school's working community.
The International Program Department will be run by qualified and trained staff that will be closely monitored by an AdvancED/CITA authorized consultant. The department has upgraded its curriculum to meet international standards and implemented recognized mechanisms for quality assurance. With such a demanding curriculum, our goal for this year is to improve our students' English Language proficiency through fourteen English Language Arts classes allocated for each grade. Remedial classes were also planned to help support students who need extra time to achieve an on - level standard. Our integrated curriculum aims to bring Art, Library, Science, Math, Social Studies and sport classes to meet a set of World - Class standards that ensure the achievement of our goal. The school mission in providing a rewarding and stimulating learning environment for all our students under the guidance of our illuminating Islamic principles pays special attention to fulfilling the Arabic Language and Religion curriculum set by the Saudi Ministry of Education within the program. Your participation and continuing support to the program throughout the year will be an integer factor to the success of your children.
We begin promptly everyday at 7:15am- 1:30pm; your child’s schedule will be sent home on Sat. 17 Oct. along with a new designed homework diary in which you will find all set rules and regulations regarding discipline/ classroom rules/ homework completion/ parent-teacher communication. Please make sure to read instructions carefully and sign.
All books will be kept in the class, locked in a cabinet and sent home as needed for homework or studying. If you need a certain book sent home for extra studying, please inform the teacher through the homework diary. Please cover all books in clear plastic and label them with your child’s name and class number.
We have a new Parent/Student Handbook this year; please refer to it for all school rules and information about the program. It is also posted on our website: dawhat-aljazeera.com
